Recent road improvements have seen an upgrade of the Haad Rin road and of other roads around the island, particularly the road from Thong Sala to Chaloklum.

TESCO Lotus recently created a splash by announcing its impending arrival on the island. Construction has already commenced in Thong Sala off the main road near the Thai Boxing Stadium.

There are currently lots of new developments around the island creating homes with full infrastructure, roads, property management and maintenance, electricity, water, security, housekeeping services, personal chefs, etc. Some of these make sense for people who want the extra services and comforts.
